Getting Ready for the New Year

It's amazing to realize that we are soon welcoming in a new year! This past year has been full and blessed for those of us in our family. I am feeling very grateful today as I have two of my children and three grand children  near. I love watching them interact. I remember when they were growing up they were best friends with each other, and they still are. My dream when I was little was to be a mom and raise my children in love and fun. We would play hide and seek, play all sorts of games, go on walks, look at the stars at night, sing songs, and just enjoy life. I lived an amazing dream. It wasn't without it's hardships, however those hardships made the joys all the more sweet.

My children grew up all too fast and I found myself an empty nester all too soon! It was tramatic! How did that happen? Now I have the time to choose a new dream. What is it I desire to do, feel in my heart to pursue? I am excited to see what the new year brings as I stay on my oils path and listen to the promptings of my heart. Thank you for reading my blog and for all your wonderful comments. I will do my best to keep teaching and sharing my life with oils.

May you experience miracles this coming year, joy, an abundance of love, and a profound awareness of your divine and amazing self!

God bless and Happy New Year!

Lovely Lavender

One of my favorite movies is called "Maid in Manhattan". I am watching it now as I write my blog. One of my favorite scenes is where the maid puts a lavender sachet on the bed of a hotel guest. As I watch this I remember the day I stayed at a bed and breakfast in Strawberry Arizona, where they put sachets of lavender on the bed posts. What a lovely and soothing touch. But why use lavender? Here are some of my ideas:

*Lavender's scent is calming, comforting, gentle
*The soft color of lavender reminds me of feminine royalty
*Lavender oil is known as the universal oil. When  you are not sure which oil to use, use lavender. There must be something very grounding and comforting with it's scent
*Lavender is used in geriatrics to assist in sleep. It is only logical then that we find sachets in the bedroom.
*Lavender has been known to keep away those pesty insects
*Lavender reminds me of my grandmother, love

To enjoy a Lavender day experiment by doing the following:

*make a cup of lemonade with a touch of lavender oil. In your cup of lemonade, gently stir a toothpick that has been dipped in lavender oil and enjoy a delicious delight.
*if you don't have any lavender buds handy, take a few cottonballs, put one or two drops lavender oil on each cottonball, put these into a pretty cloth bag with a satin ribbon and tie it with a bow. Place these in your dresser drawer. Every time you open your drawer you will receive a gentle lavender uplifting moment.
*Take three minutes for yourself. Sit in a comfortable chair, put a drop of lavender oil in your hand, rub your hands together then cup them gently over your nose and breathe. Just be there and enjoy the moment.
*Put a drop or two of lavender oil in your laundry rinse water.
*Add lavender oil to a good unscented lotion, or use the Young Living Lavender lotion, one of my favorites.
*Make some bath salts using epsom salts, lavender oil, and a touch of beet powder in a glass bowl. Put in a closed container and keep by your bath for those special needs moments.
*After you wash your hair, put two or three drops lavender oil in your hands, gently rub your lavender hands through your hair. You will smell it all day.

Use the other lavender products by Young Living and enjoy a lovely lavender day!

Amazing Use for Animal Scents Ointment

Two of my adorable grand children are here visiting this week. They are the cutest boys in the world! Their little noses are running with the winter colds that seem to attack when our immune systems get run down. Traveling ten hours to get to grandma's house can sometimes do that. Most of the day today was spent wiping little noses. I discovered that putting a little Young Living Animal Scents Ointment on the tissue before wiping their noses helped ease the pain and added a little conditioning too!

My husband uses the Animal Scents Ointment on his nose every night to assist with the dryness we experience here in Arizona. I like it on my lips and sometimes I use it as a conditioner in my hair. When my hair feels extra dry and frizzy, I put a little in my hands, rub them together well, then rub my hands through my hair to calm it down. I love the smell! Another great way to use this product is to put it on your feet at night and then wear some nice warm socks to bed. The Animals Scents Ointment is a great conditioner for many things.

When I first heard about this product, I thought it was just for animals. Then at the last Young Living convention in Salt Lake, I met a lady who told me she uses it on her dry feet and loves it! What? I didn't know we humans could use it too! Now I'm hooked and I use it every day!

Beautiful Arizona Winter Sky

We probably won't have a white Christmas here in our little town in Arizona, but we are having some beautiful and much needed rain. Rosemary grows all around us here. Rosemary essential oil (Rosmarinus officinalis, CT Cineol) originates from France, Tunisia, and USA. This plant was regarded as sacred by many past civilizations. It's properties are those of antibacterial, anti-catarrhal, anti-infectious, and expectorant. It's aromatic influence is one of stimulating memory and opening the conscious mind. I sense an earthy, evergreen undertone when I smell rosemary. From the bottle in it's essential oil form, it is quite strong. But, after an Arizona rain, it is sweet and refreshing!

Because of the strong scent of the essential oil of rosemary, I like to dilute this oil. There is some safety data you should be aware of as well. In the "Reference Guide for Essential Oils" by Connie and Alan Higley, they caution not to use this oil during pregnancy, if you have epilepsy, or if you have high blood pressure, and not for children 6 years or younger. I use this oil to assist my body in areas where I may be struggling with respiratory ailments, Immune system dysfunctions, or problems with my nervous system. It is also a GRAS oil, generally regarded as safe for internal consumption by the FDA, so I use it in some of my tomato sauces and seasonings.

Next time you are here when it rains and you notice a sweet herbal scent wafting around you, it is probably rosemary.

Here are some awesome pictures of the sky this morning. What a beautiful day!

Sensational and Healthy Christmas Treat

OK, this may sound a little like bragging, never the less, this recipe is sensational and healthy! I make it every Christmas for my friends and family. You can always alter it to suit your taste. Here it is once again, with a few revisions:

Into a large non stick fry pan, on medium heat, melt 1/2 cube butter
add the following:
5 cups raw sunflower seeds
2 cups unsweetened shredded coconut
a dash of sea salt
1 tsp (or more, depending on your taste), Far East Seasoning by Spice Bouquet
(this consists of a blend of clove, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and anise powdered spices)

STIR constantly until mixture starts to brown, about five minutes

ADD:
1 to 1 1/2 cups brown sugar. I use Yellow D Cell sugar, which is raw sugar ground to the consistency of brown sugar, only with more minerals than the brown sugar.
Continue to stir the mixture until it becomes a light golden brown, about ten minutes.
Pour the mixture into a bowl and let it cool.

When cooled, add the following:
1 cup raisins
1 cup honey roasted peanuts (optional, this is the first year I added these to the mix)
1 cup dried pineapple chunks

STIR
Then add six to twelve drops Young Living essential oil of Lemon. This makes the flavor POP!

Doesn't this sound divine?

ENJOY and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Sensational and Healthy Low Carb Recipe

The holidays are upon us and I have chosen to do my very best to stick to my low carb diet. Today, all I have had is 17 carbs. Not at all bad considering that there are cookie tins with filled with candy and treats around my house. It is easy to resist these sugary concoctions when you have healthy treats available as well. Here is one that we like a lot, and it's easy to make.

Mix a few tablespoons of peanut butter with 1/2 that amount of extra virgin coconut oil. You may need to soften the coconut oil a little bit. You may also like to cut back on the coconut oil. My husband likes more of it than I do. Then add stevia to taste. We use liquid stevia, about one squirt will do, or less. Stir it all together, mixing it well, and then dip apples in it, or spread it out in a small cake pan, put it in the fridge, wait until it hardens, and then cut into little squares and eat. Play with it, it's fun!

I made dark baking chocolate, coconut oil, dates, and pecans with stevia too. I melted the chocolate and coconut oil first. Then I stirred in the dates and pecans. Of course you can omit the dates and just do lots of nuts. After mixing this, I put it in an oiled bread loaf pan in the fridge, let it get hard, then we chunk it up and mix the chunks with peanut butter and cream cheese with a little stevia. Oh my goodness! My hubby wants me to add cinnamon bark oil next time. Yummy!

Have a happy and healthy holiday! You deserve it!!

How to Use Oils That Can Irritate Your Skin

This is my daughter and fellow oils lover! Years ago when she was a teenager, we had our first experience with the essential oils blend Exodus II. She went crazy over it. It smelled fantastic! Before I knew what she was going to do, it was too late. In her hands went the oil and then all over her neck. Ahhhh, the scent was uplifting, delicious, and wait! HOT! Yep, Exodus II has the essential oil of cassia and cinnamon bark as two of it's eight ingredients. Needless to say her neck and face turned beet red. We quickly applied olive oil to help slow down the absorption and after about thirty minutes, she began to cool down. This hasn't slowed her down in the use of the oils, just made us both more aware and now we make sure to read before we use!

There are several oils that may cause skin sensitivity so it is important that you learn about your oils and have a good reference book handy. My favorite is the "Essential Oils Desk Reference" published by Essential Science Publishing, available at Amazon.com. It is my oils Bible. In the back of the book you will find a guide that lists all the oils and their data. For your benefit I will list the oils that have possible/probable skin irritations. Most of these require dilution. Some cause more sensitivity than others. This is important to know especially if you plan on making any gifts such as lotions, bath salts, facial scrubs, etc., and many of these are in several of the essential oil blends. They are:

Basil
Bergamot
Cajeput
Calamus
Cardamon
Cassia
Western Red Cedar
Celery Seed
Cinnamon Bark
Citronella
Citrus Hystrix
Clove
Cumin
Eucalyptus dives
Douglas Fir
Idaho Balsam Fir
White Fir
Juniper
Laurel
Lemon
Lemongrass
Mountain Savory
Nutmeg
Oregano
Palo Santo
Pepper
Peppermint
Pine
Ponderosa Pine
Spearmint
Spruce
Tangerine
Tsuga

Happy Safe Oiling and Merry Christmas!

Discover the Amazing Benefits the Melrose Blend May Have for Your Health

OUCH! MOMMY IT HURTS!!

There are so many ways we can improve our health whether physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental. Ways that can assist our bodies in helping itself to heal when damaged by infection, injury, pain, trauma. This burn wound, if not properly taken care of, could get infected and cause some major damage. Thank goodness her mother knew what to do to help her daughters body heal. In our family we always reach for the oils. Because they are certified therapeutic essential oils, with every batch going through rigorous testing passing the highest standards on the market, we feel safe in using them on ourselves and our little ones.

In this blog I have chosen to discuss which oils may assist in the bodies attempts to overcome infections. My resources are "The Essential Oils Desk Reference", (my oils Bible), and the "Reference Guide for Essential Oils" by Connie and Alan Higley. In reading from these books, we learn the following:

*First recommendations for fighting infections are: Inner Defense (supplement), Thieves (oil blend), oregano oil, thyme oil, Melrose (oil blend).
*Other supplements that may assist the body are: Immune Tune, ImmuPro, Super C/Super C chewable, dried wolfberries, Ningxia Red, Life 5(pro biotic), Longevity soft gels, MultiGreens, and Omega Blue soft gels

In the "Reference Guide for Essential Oils" it mentions that for infected wounds, use: Frankinsence, melaleuca, patchouli.  Melrose, Raven, and Thieves are also highlighted. The Melrose oil blend mentioned in these books contains the following oils: melaleuca, melaleuca quinquenervia, rosemary, and clove. Together these oils have anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, antiseptic, anti-infectious, disinfecting, and tissue regenerating properties.

I have found the oils of Thieves and Melrose to be very healing and helpful. Three years ago I decided it was time to "fix my teeth". I could hardly chew my food, they were so tender. When I finally went to the dentist he found that I had a massive infection in my upper jaw area because of a root canal gone bad. He was amazed that I hadn't been in more pain than I was. I must confess, I used a lot of Thieves oil blend in my mouth to numb the pain and fight the infection. This infection was so bad that it had eaten a hole as big as his thumb right through the bone and had progressed into my sinus area. Luckily it  hadn't gone into my brain. Had I waited any longer, I probably would not be here writing this blog today.

Before any work could be done on the rest of my teeth, the infected tooth had to be pulled. To assist my body in healing, I used Melrose on my cheek bone constantly. I also used it in a mouth wash. Rinsing my mouth after this type of surgery was quite an adventure. Every time I would rinse, the water would come out my nose! Yikes!!  No bone, no keeping the bacteria and food out of my sinus passage. It was weeks before it healed closed, but heal it did, thank goodness.  I learned quite quickly that I couldn't put the Melrose oil blend directly on the stitches, as they were made from some sort of plastic petrochemical material, and the Melrose started eating and dissolving the stitch. I waited until the stitches came out naturally before I directly applied the Melrose to the wounded area. I loved it though. It assisted with pain relief and I healed very well.

I also use Melrose on canker sores, cuts, hang nails, and anything in my mouth that hurts! Whatever did I do before I found the oils? Or should I say before the oils found me? Remember, we are all unique and what may work for one may not work for another. That is why there is more than one recommended blend, oil, or supplement. I always make using the oils a matter of prayer, study  and experimentation. I am not a doctor and I don't know what others need. I do know that I can hear what my own body needs by quiet listening and experimenting with the different oils that are available. I have my favorites for sure, Melrose and Thieves are two of them.

Happy Oiling!

Discover Safe Fun in the Sun!

Posted by Picasa
When you look at this picture doesn't it make you want to go run and play in the sun? For your benefit, remember that some essential oils, when placed on the skin, have a photosensitive effect. This means that direct exposure to sunlight within 24-72 hours after use could cause dermatitis. From personal experience I have also discovered that some oils cause discoloration on my skin. One day I put the essential oil of bergamot on my wrist. Then I enjoyed a leisurely drive to my hotel room, arm hanging out the window. It was a beautiful spring day. I began to unload my bags, all of them at the same time, of course. Later that day I noticed some brown spots on the inside of my arm, one or two on my wrist. I thought "Wow Laina, you are low on vitamin C! Look at those bruises on your arm. That's what happens when you carry all your luggage in, in one trip!" Then I looked closer and pushed on the brown spots. No pain, but hey looked like bruises. Then I realized what I had done. They were oil spots from the sun. Bergamot is a rutaceae plant (citrus), cold pressed from the rind, a photosensitive oil. Hahah! There you have it. No bruises, just oil marks. It took a few weeks for the spots to go away, no harm done, lesson learned.

The best source for information on which oils cause photo sensitivity is the "Essential Oils Desk Reference". I will list a few here for you, however, if you are making your own lotions and massage oils, I would suggest that you purchase the book so you can have a more comprehensive list.
Single oils:
Angelica
Chamomile
Citrus
Ginger
Lemon
Lime
Mandarin
Orange
Tangerine

Blends:
Awaken
Citrus Fresh
Clarity
Dream Catcher
Harmony
Inner Child
Joy
Peace and Calming
Transformation
White Angelica

Happy Oiling!

Ningxia Red Experience

I have been doing a lot of research lately on challenges other people are facing and I am amazed at how many times the Ningxia Red Drink is recommended. My husband and I take it regularly. I really enjoy taking it to Zumba with me in my water. It is very thirst quenching! I also enjoy having some in apple juice on occasion. And of course, my favorite way to drink it is in a Young Living shot glass I got at convention! Too fun!

I have found that the Ningxia Red helps me with my stamina and energy. It doesn't contain harsh stimulants like refined sugars or teas with caffeine, nor any ephedra. It is a drink that contains the highest levels of naturally occurring S-ORAC and ORAC activity. The S-ORAC tes measures a drink's ability to neutralize the dangerous superoxide free radical. According to what I have read, elevated superoxide is linked to chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, etc. Although this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, I have found that is does support my own personal energy levels and is delicious and nutritious!

Washing of the Fruits and Vegies

Before I knew about Young Living Therapeutic Essential Oils, I use to bring my vegetables and fruits home from the store and soak them in unfiltered apple cider vinegar. I had read that this would help clean and somewhat detoxify my foods. Then I discovered the wonderful oil of Lemon! Now I use it on all my fruits and vegies. I cook with it too!  This is what I do:

For rinsing fruits and fresh vegies:
-fill a bowl with water and add 3 to 4 drops of lemon oil, stir
-add your foods and mix well
-strain off the water
-dry off the foods and then put them in a clean bag in the fridge

Two of my favorite foods to use the lemon oil on are grapes and fresh strawberries. I don't rinse off the lemon oil. To my taste buds, the scent and flavor is wonderful. I have noticed that my fruit lasts longer and I have less mold on the strawberries.  Another favorite taste is when, after washing my apples, I take the cinnamon bark or cassia essential oil, put some in my hands and rub it on the apple. Then slice the apple and eat it. The taste is delicious. The oils of cinnamon and cassia are HOT so go easy and make sure you wash your hands after rubbing the oils onto the apples.

Happy Eating!

What is Acidosis?

In the "Reference Guide for Essential Oils" we are told that "Acidosis is a condition of over-acidity in the blood and body tissues. When the body loses its alkaline reserve, pleomorphic virus, bacteria, yeast, and fungus take over and cause degenerative diseases such as diabetes, cancer, AIDS, arteriosclerosis, arthritis, osteoporosis, chronic fatigue, etc. Symptoms of acidosis may include: frequent sighing, insomnia, water retention, recessed eyes, rheumatoid arthritis, migraine headaches, abnormally low blood pressure, and alternating constipation and diarrhea. Some of the causes of acidosis may include: improper diet, kidneys, liver, and adrenal disorder, emotional disturbances, fever, and an excess of niacin, vitamin C, and aspirin."

Because the essential oils contain oxygen, using them in your foods and drinking with them in your water may reduce the acidity in your body. Oxygen reduces the acidity of the blood. Also in the "Reference Guide to Essential Oils" we learn that lemon has the ability to counteract acidity in the body. The citric acid found in lemons is neutralized during digestion, giving off carbonates and bicarbonates of potassium and calcium which helps maintain the alkalinity of the system. The body can only heal in an alkaline state.

The following supplements and oils are recommended:
AlkaLime, Balance Complete, JuvaPower, Life 5 (probiotic), Mineral Essence, MultiGreens, Power Meal, Lemon, myrrh, peppermint, Thieves, Exodus. These products can be found on my web site at:
www.youngliving.org/lamoore

It is suggested that the following foods be avoided:
meat, dairy products, whole wheat or rye bread, coffee, tea, wine, beer, root beer, cider, yeast products, soy sauce, cold cereals, potato chips, etc...

Gary Young, founder of Young Living Essential Oils, suggested that by taking raw apple cider vinegar with some Thieves essential oil blend in 2 ounces of water first thing in the morning will help reduce the bodies acid levels. Dr. John Christopher also suggested raw apple cider vinegar, cayenne pepper, a little honey and some water first thing in the morning. I've tried both and they are quite tasty.

As a side note, Canker sores, not an infectious disease, tend to occur because of stress, a weak immune system, illness, and possible injury. When I get a canker, the first thing I do is review my diet. I have noticed that sometimes when I eat too many nuts and grains, and not enough fresh vegetables, I start to get them. So, I adjust my diet, and then I start applying the essential oil blend Melrose to the canker. I have also used lemon oil in the past. I think the taste of lemon is better than the Melrose but the Melrose works better for me. I also start taking the supplement called AlkaLime.

One of the best books I have ever read concerning which foods to use for the body, is written by Dr. Bernard Jensen titled "Foods That Heal". On page 65 he states the following "Candy can produce acids in the body. Carbohydrates can even produce an alcoholic condition in the body. William Jennings Bryan, one of our great orators, at one time went around the country telling people how bad whiskey and the drinking of alcohol was, and he died of an alcoholic stomach. The day he died he had eaten thirteen hot cakes with syrup for his breakfast. It produced an alcoholic "still" in his stomach, and he died from alcohol poisoning!"

Learning what foods are alkaline and which ones are acid would be important in living a long and healthy life. The following books are some of my favorites and have assisted me on my wellness path. Most of them are available on Amazon.com

"Foods That Heal", by Dr. Bernard Jensen
"Essential Oils Desk Reference" published by Essential Science Publishing
"Reference Guide for Essential Oils" by Connie and Alan Higley
"Back to Eden" by Jethro Kloss
"School of Natural Healing" by Dr. John R. Christopher
"Mucusless Diet Healing System" by Professor Arnold Ehert
"Is Any Sick Among" You by La Dean Griffin

Our Bodies and What They Are Telling Us

Our bodies are the most amazing creation! For most of us we enjoy good eyesight, hearing ears, functioning limbs, a clear mind, a tongue that can taste and sense flavors and temperatures, toes that can wiggle, a nose that can breathe and detect odors, a stomach that alerts us to hunger; skin that signals to the brain weather changes and subtleties around us. Our bodies also tell us when things aren't quite right by sending us a cold, giving an ache here or there, sponsoring an unwanted skin eruption, rash or pain; alerting us to hormonal imbalances, constipation, or stress by sending us a headache; and may at times allow us the experience of an upset stomach which can possibly mean we need to change our diet!

Today I would like to talk about the skin and one of the areas of concern for some of you, which is Eczema. Eczema and dermatitis are both inflammations of the skin and, as we have been told, are most often due to allergies. According to the "Essential Oils Desk Reference", Eczema usually results from internal factors, such as irritant chemicals, soaps and shampoos,or allergies (gluten, lactose, etc.) The book lists the following suggestions as their top recommendations:
-Use lavender myrrh  Dilute the oils 50:50 and apply on location as needed.
-The supplements ICP/Comfortone/Essentialzyme, Rose Ointment, Juva Power, detoxzyme, Polyzyme

In the "Reference Guide to Essential Oils" by Connie and Alan Higley, they mention the following: "Eczema may indicate a sulfur deficiency." These oils and supplements are recommended
-Bergamot, eucalyptus, geranium, helichrysum, juniper, lavender, Melaleuca ericifolia, melissa, patchouli, rosewood, sage, Juva Power,/Juva Spice, Sulfurzyme (comes in capsule or powder).

In Young Living we have a supplement that I strongly encourage all my people to take regularly, and it is the Sulfurzyme. I have written about it before because it has assisted my body in many healthy ways. I have gotten relief from colds, aches, pains, and allergies. It is a supplement made with MSM and the Ningxia Wolfberry which is a rich source of vitamin C.

I love the oils that are recommended and have my personal favorites, lavender being on the top of my list. Lavender is commonly known as the universal oil. When in doubt as to which oil one should use, lavender is usually a good choice. Yet, as we all know, there are no two of us alike. Each system is a bit different so I sometimes need to experiment to find out which essential oil my body most prefers. In the "Essential Oils Desk Reference" it was mentioned that some soaps and shampoos may cause problems, so in our home we use the Young Living shampoos, soaps and personal care products. There is a fair selection to choose from for adults and children.

I  have a favorite book written by Dr. Bernard Jensen titled "Foods That Heal". This book outlines foods that are high in sulfur, some of which are: avocado, Brussels sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, chives, cranberries, and egg yolk, to name just a few. You might look into making this a purchase for your home library. I reference it constantly and have learned much from Dr. Jensen's wisdom.

Health and wellness to you!

Essential Oils For Pets

The day after Thanksgiving we went to Paradise Valley down by Phoenix and had the opportunity of hearing from Veterinarian Nancy Brandt. She started using the oils around the same time I did. I remember meeting her in the ladies room at convention years ago. She was excited to learn how to use the oils on her animals and in her practice. Her growth has been a benefit to us all, most especially to our pets, so I was excited to listen to her speak. She also writes an article in my up-line Crown Diamond, Marcella Vonn Harting's Newsletter. The following link is to one of her articles:
http://www.marcellavonnharting.com/stock/pdf/YNMEN-Vol-9-Issue-1-2010.pdf

In the her class we learned the following:
1. Focus on what you want manifested for your pet. The more the guardian believes their pet can heal and be well, the quicker it will manifest.
2. Our animals are a model for us to learn to be present and clear. They live in the now. They will help to teach us this principle.
3. Be authentic with yourself, animals are.
4. In "The Secret" we learn to ask, receive and have gratitude. Nancy says to remember to celebrate the gift. She says the road to stress is a lack of gratitude. Our animals health depends on us being stress free. They mimic our health.
5. Don't use Thieves oils or Thieves products on cats. They are a different animal and react differently to the oils.
6. Ask yourself  "Why am I here. Why is my pet here?" Shift your purpose, then listen to help guide your pet to discover it's purpose.
7. All animals can be put on Power Meal and Ningxia Red with a little water. Don't give your pets dry foods. They need the moisture that comes naturally in foods. Feed them their evolutionary diet.
(side note: I have two pet rats and I came home after this class and gave them Power Meal mixed with a little Ningxia Red. They LOVED it! Oops, I forgot to add the water. They did alright with it though).
8. Purification oil is the best overall oil to use on all pets and animals. Great for cleaning and clears the area of electrical pollution as well.
9. Don't put the oils on the paws. They will lick them and get the dirt and chemicals that they have been walking on into their system. The chemicals will be pushed in faster by their licking. Mist the oils on animals with 1% sea salt in distilled water, .02% oil.
10. Can imprint oils on animals. Be careful what you imprint so that it is healing and not negative.
11. Jean Dobbs did research on animals
12. Information on animal health and the oils is available on the Marcella Vonn Harting Training DVD's, volume two.
13. Nancy's office number: 702-617-3285. She does phone consultations.

Blood Clots, Strokes and Testimonials

As we begin our Christmas Season, I often wonder where all the traditions come from. There's the caroling, the tree decorating, the gift giving. I am aware that some of these traditions may have come from pagan sources. I am also aware that there is much symbolism in the decorations we use, and concerning gift giving, this may have begun when the Wise Men brought gifts to the Christ child. I love giving gifts and receiving them. I enjoy doing it all year round. I am grateful that this joyous season comes at a time where, in my country, it is winter, with long dark nights, and usually a bit of chilly weather. I find the singing, decorations, and general overall good spirit of the season lifts the dark and gloom of this wintery time of year. It also comes at a time where the old ends and the new begins. We tend to show more love and gratitude towards each other as we remember the birth of our Savior.

I have a distributor who has a friend that recently experienced a stroke. In our search to assist her in her healing process, I found these testimonials on the following site:

www.oil-testimonials.com/93137.

Each one of us are different. Each one unique. What may work for one may not work for another, as you will read in the testimonials below. This testimonial site is a great resource if you are searching for answers. The book "Essential Oils Desk Reference" is another source for answers. Maybe this blog is helping you on your learning journey. There are answers out there, we just need to know where to go sometimes. Please take time to go to the testimonial site and search around. You may find the answers you are looking for. Read about the Young Living essential oils that these people used to dissolve a blood clot, overcome a stroke and regain mobility. They are beautiful testimonials from grateful people. One of them also enjoyed results from the same gift given to the Christ child, the amazing Frankincense. The gift that keeps on giving!

Cheers To This Day!

I live in a glorious place at a marvelous time in a wonderful way! Cheers to this day! The weather is fabulous here in Arizona. To start our day my husband made me low carb, non gluten, non dairy pancakes which we topped with a little black cherry juice concentrate and lemon oil.  Oh my goodness, heavenly! Our Christmas Parade was happy and fun with everyone cheerful, friendly and kind. We rode our bikes to the parade and then went out to lunch where we ate outside. Then I road my bike to my friends home and had song practice singing Christmas songs with several amazing and beautiful ladies. As I rode my bike home I was in awe at all my blessings and the goodness I enjoy in my life. I just had to share it with you.

It is my intention that your days may be as blessed as mine is today. I give thanks for my amazing life experiences, the good and the bad. I am grateful to be alive and learning, experiencing, teaching, giving and receiving. May you feel the joy of a sunny day, the love of good friends and family, the sweetness of this holiday season, and may you know the important part you play in the symphony of life!

My beautiful grand daughter waving in the parade. What a beauty. One of the many joys of my life!

Conference Call with Gary in Ethiopia

Last night we had the privilege of hearing from Gary Young who is at the moment in Ethiopia. Below are some of the highlights from that conference call:

Our lavender oil not a hybrid, not a cologne oil. The crops in France are struggling with a virus. The past few years have also been the worst drought they have ever had, and then this year the worst for flooding which has caused a shock to the lavender crops. In the next five years there may not be lavender crops in France. As of now, only 50% of orders from the sellers in France can be filled. Gary bought 1500 kilos of lavender oil which will get Young Living through the next two years.

One week ago while Gary was in Oman working at the distillery, he was also meeting with government officials and filming in the desert. He and the crew found tombs up in the cliffs. They went back into the mountains and while kicking rocks around as they hiked, they found limestone sticking above the ground. After digging around they discovered another distillery tub, four more chambers on the mountain. Then they found a pile of stones three steps up, the fourth step was too difficult to dig to. Gary saw something that looked like a monument and a rock with scrapings on it with a flying serpent symbol. There is the story that was told anciently that there were flying serpents up in the Frankincense trees. These symbols were put up by those who owned the Frankincense groves to scare people and keep them from going into the trees. No serpents were there in reality, but it worked to scare most people away. This monument validated the stories Gary had heard over the years. Validation of the Frankincense trails!

Gary discovered in his travels and samples gathered from various frankincense trees, that the oil chemistry in the same species of plants is different in each region depending on the weather. The oil from the coastal trees has different compounds than those inland.

In Ethiopia he has been traveling in the myrrh groves where there are millions of myrrh trees. You can reach out and touch them for they are so close together. These trees have the best quality of myrrh he has ever seen in his life.

While in Ethiopia he is searching for the Frankincense trees. They are not called the same there and they struggled with language barriers. He talked with botanists and the Minister of Agriculture. They wouldn’t give out much information. Oddly enough, on their way out of this particular area, Gary said a prayer asking for guidance. Not long after his prayer his pilot, who had been taking him around the area, called. By an interesting coincidence his pilot was an American from South Carolina who had a friend who’s bother deals in Frankincense and knows where the trees are grown and harvested. So, by an amazing miracle and blessing from Heavenly Father, Gary is off to to visit the Frankincense groves in Ethiopia! I can hardly wait to hear what he learns and discovers!

Thank you Gary and Mary for your commitment and desire to teach us and guide us in learning about these amazing oils. Thank you for your ethics and for you determination to provide us with the very best therapeutic grade essential oils. God bless!

Fat Can Be Good For You!

I was at the chiropractor today and I ran across an article in the "Ode" magazine, volume 7 issue 5 for June/July 2009. I cheered for joy when I read the article titled "Fat is where it's at", by Janet Paskin, with reporting by Ursula Sautter/Germany. Well, anyone that knows me is aware of the fact that I would rather eat a BIG FAT JUICY STEAK, than have a piece of candy. I LOVE FAT! But, being the health conscious person that I sorta am, I regulate the type of fat that I eat. In the article it states "For decades, fat has been blamed for everything from heart disease to obesity to cancer. But new research shows that fat can be good for you." Well, how about that! I have always felt that naturally occurring fats like butter, olive oil, and animal fat in moderation, like my much loved Rib Eye steaks, are much better for the body that the chemical imitations found in the stores in various tempting products. Remember, I said moderation, and one fat that I am not at all worried about is my olive oil. Pour it on baby!

The article continues to say that "Chemicals, starches and sugar are more harmful than the much feared animal fats". Yipee, another shout for joy from me! It also states "Children under the age of 6 need fat...Children who are given the same 'light' products as their parents do not get enough." According to this article the problem arises when we cut out all fats because of our fear of the bad fats. By doing this, we eliminate the good fats that our bodies need, like unsaturated fats found in nuts, fish, olive oil and the delicious avocado. Gary Taubes, a science journalist, states that "when it comes to cholesterol, foods high in saturated fats, may be, at worst, a wash. If you work out the numbers, you come to the surreal conclusion that you can eat lard straight from the can and conceivably reduce your risk of heart disease".

When I went through menopause my cholesterol levels went higher than they should be. I was told by my doctor that alleviating some of my stress, exercise, and diet were necessary to lower my cholesterol. I always exercise, stress doesn't just go away but, I started doing things for myself, and I always thought I ate well. That is, until I became very sensitive to gluten products. I started eating lots of rice bread, rice, and high carb foods to fill the void of not being able to eat food containing gluten, which seemed like everything! After five years of struggling my husband and my doctor encouraged me to adopt a low glycemic diet, which I did faithfully. I cut out all processed foods including my rice bread, high carbs! For two months I only allowed myself 20 carbs a day, now I am at 40-60 good carbs, low glycemic foods, per day. I eat lots of fish, chicken, and some beef (including the fat). I also added eggs which I didn't eat for 15 years because of what I thought was too much cholesterol. We checked my blood after the first two months and TA DA! My levels balanced and I started losing weight. How awesome is that! And, I can eat all the good fats I want. Just not the "Chemicals, starches and sugars" for I believe they are the real culprits.

I feel better and more satisfied in my eating habits, and one of my daughters, my husband, and myself, have started creating delicious recipes to fit our fat filled, low carb, non dairy, non gluten diets. Oh yes, I am allergic to dairy so they cater to me, gotta love 'em for that. We are learning the art of creating great new foods, like the chocolate cake my daughter made me for Thanksgiving, a wonderful act of love for her mother. In previous blogs I have included some of our recipes, especially ones with essential oils in them, and plan on adding more to the list. So, in closing, a modified message from a spokesman for the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute and the American Council on Science and Health says "You want to eat a steak? That's fine. Just remember to make it six ounces rather than 16". OK, I can do that!
