Dangerous Substance!

Have you ever read the ingredients to any of the "beauty" products on the market? I have. I remember a few years back, when I attended a Young Living meeting, a gentleman stood up and mentioned an ingredient I knew little about. It was Propylene Glycol. I really had no idea what it was. He began to tell us that he worked for the airlines and was in charge of making sure the windows on the airplanes were cleaned and prepped for safety. He said that the main ingredient they used was Propylene Glycol. In order for them to use this substance, they had to wear Hazmat suits. These suits are used for people who deal with extremely hazardous materials. My first thought was "You mean to tell me that I have been eating bunting cake with this stuff in it! And I have been washing my hair with shampoos and using lotions on my body with this stuff in it!" This meeting and the man's comments changed my life path and I began to search for more natural foods and products that would support good health instead of destroy it!

According to the American Heritage Encyclopedia Dictionary, Propylene Glycol is a colorless, viscous, hygroscopic liquid used in anti-freeze solutions, in hydraulic fluids, and as a solvent. I have learned that it is also a humectant, a substance that helps retain moisture content, or in other words, helps keep things from drying out. Using this in pet foods helps keep them moist and chewy. Using this in cosmetics makes the skin feel moist. It can also be found in foods as a preservative and in baby wipes. According to Material Safety Data Sheets and The American Academy of Dermatologists, Inc. (Jan 1991 issue), you can read that propylene glycol has been implicated in contact dermatitis, kidney damage and liver abnormalities.

Since that meeting several years ago, I have noticed that there has become a greater awareness and movement towards better health and purer products. It is much easier to find products that no longer have propylene glycol or other unsafe ingredients. I have used a lot of different natural products over the years and have found that the Young Living Beauty and Personal Care products are superb!  My favorites include:

Cinnamint Lip Balm
Rose Ointment
Satin Facial Scrub Mint
Lavender Hand and Body Lotion
Regenolone Moisturizing Cream
Lavaderm Cooling Mist
Progessence Plus

Animal Scents Ointment
AND
The new and innovative Copaiba Vanilla Shampoo and Conditioner

I have linked all these products to the web so that you can read more about them. You can also access them by going to my web site at www.youngliving.org/lamoore. Click on "Products" and explore!

No need to FEAR! YOUNG LIVING IS HERE!

To your Good Health,

The Body Worlds Exhibit

Yesterday my husband and I went on a field trip to the Phoenix Science Center where we saw the Body Worlds Exhibit. Two and a half hours was not enough time for me to see all the amazing displays of the human body! I am grateful for the education it brought me and the reminder of how intricately designed we are! This first picture is of the veins. I thought it was beautiful, one of my favorite parts of the exhibit:

Another one of my favorite exhibits was of the woman with child. There were displays showing the beginning of conception up to several months of pregnancy. It was humbling to see how formed we are even at our very conception. Life, A MIRACLE!

My husband's favorite was the exhibit of the Crazy Lady. She is pulled apart allowing the onlooker to see the body at an unusual and kind of scary angle! He would pick this as his favorite. He stood there a long time examining her:

What a life changing experience this was! I hope you have a chance to visit this exhibit some time. It is well worth the time and effort to get there. Remember this, YOU ARE AWESOME!!!

POWER LUNCH CONFERENCE CALL

WEDNESDAY MAY 11, 2011
WITH JON RAYNES

The difference in Young Living is we don’t burn through people, we light them up! Our company is filled with healers and believers! Most of us are in the business because we love the people. Remember, we all have a twenty four hour day, limited time and energy. We all work, have families and other responsibilities. This business maximizes our abilities with the use of others. A corporation is a pyramid. You have your corporate officers and leaders and then the employees. Not much chance of progressing in the modern day corporation set up. In Young Living, when one succeeds, we all succeed! For example, when I succeed I help others and when they succeed they help me. That is the power of Network Marketing, people helping each other.

Our company is more focused on products and education, not just the money. The money is a reward for helping others. The check I earn is based on the amount of people I help! We have phenomenal products and give back wellness to people.

All Diamonds in Young Living build their businesses differently yet they all have some things in common. Here is a list of Diamond Grade Qualities:

  1. CARE MORE FOR OTHERS THAN YOU FEAR THEM: I care that you are getting the best that you can get. Young Living offers solutions to problems in our lives. Doing it is up to me, whether they accept it is up to them!

  1. BELIEVE THAT THE OUTCOME OF DOING GOOD IS GOOD: Often times we think this statement is a theory because it is not always what we see happen to us. We need to believe and act on the outcome that doing good is good. Fill our “GOOD” reservoir until it spills out!

  1. YOU HAVE TO HAVE A PASSION: What’s my passion? Remember that my passion is transferable! This business is not built on sales, it is built on relationships. On the path to passion one has to go through discipline. Apply that discipline for your passion to this business. Transfer that passion to be a leader in Young Living!

  1. BONUS DIAMOND QUALITY: Diamonds in Young Living are highly paid Story Tellers! Historically people told their family histories to their children through stories. We understand through stories. Tell your Young Living Story!

    My Young Living Story

I was just reminiscing about  how I first learned of Young Living Essential Oils. It all began because I read in Dr. John R. Christopher's book "The School of Natural Healing" that mullein oil is helpful when experiencing an ear ache. I have four children and when they were growing up, I did my best to use herbal and natural remedies in assisting them on their wellness journey. I also had a child that could not swallow pills, so the oils and other remedies were very helpful in assisting her into wellness. Since I was fourteen, my mother had taken me to many lectures on wellness and Dr. Christopher was one of my favorites. I felt confident in his knowledge and herbal formulas so I began my learning journey of herbs and oils from him.

As a natural progression on our wellness journey, it wasn't long before I learned about homeopathic remedies. I began to use them with our family, along with the herbal remedies and homemade mullein and garlic oils, tinctures, and other healthy resources. All of these helped my family in wellness and I am very grateful for the blessings we received from them, and I still use them even though my children have all grown and have families of their own. However, I felt that something was missing. As I read the scriptures I kept coming across words like "Holy Anointing oil", "Balm of Gilead", "Incense", "Ointment of Spikenard", and other similar terms that pricked my interest. I desired to know more and was guided to read the book "The Complete Book of Essential Oils & Aromatherapy" by Valerie Ann Worwood. I was excited to find what I thought was the missing link of information for my wellness journey! I can say today that it was the link that lead me to find Young Living.

After reading Valerie's book, the first thing I did was run to the health food store and purchase some essential oils. I began using them faithfully with excitement in hopes that the outcome would be eventful. I began to get discouraged as nothing was happening like the book mentioned it should. In my knowing of the differences in purity and standards between different products, I began the search for essential oils that were certified pure, without added chemicals and byproducts. I soon discovered that there were very few companies available to the public for such essential oils. I found one in Canada and one over somewhere in Europe. I began to get discouraged and felt that perhaps I would need to find a way to make my own essential oils. That would take much of my time, which I didn't have as I was a home schooling mother of four.

The Lord works in amazing ways for not long after my prayer for assistance in finding good essential oils for my family, I received a postcard in a home school advertising packet, mentioning a company called Young Living Essential Oils. Wow! Talk about an answer to my prayers! I love it when that happens. I promptly sent away for more information and before long, I had my first box of therapeutic, certified pure, essential oils. The kit I bought was called "The Essential 7 Kit". It contains one 15 ml bottle of each of the following: lavender, lemon, peppermint, Purification, Peace and Calming, PanWay, and Joy! What fun we had with these oils, and what fun we continue to have. "The Essential 7 Kit" is my favorite, it is still available, and we always have these oils around for our use. We LOVE them!

    The Adrenal Glands

The adrenal glands are made up of two sections: the medulla which is the inner part and produces stress hormones; the cortex, the outer part, which secretes hormones and glucocorticoids and aldosterone, critical steroid hormones. Because of these hormones, the cortex has a greater impact on a person's overall health. The aldosterone and glucocorticoids directly affect blood pressure and mineral content and help regulate the conversion of carbohydrates into energy. When the adrenal glands are working properly, it is also easier to correct low thyroid function.

It is recommended in the "Essential Oils Desk Reference" by Essential Science Publishing, as well as the "Reference Guide for Essential Oils" by Connie and Alan Higley, that the following supplements may assist in attaining better adrenal health:

Thyromin, MultiGreens, Balance Complete, Sulfurzyme, Mega Cal, Mineral Essence, Super B, and Master Formula His/Hers.

For supporting the adrenal glands, the following essential oils are recommended:
In 20 drops massage oil add the following essential oils: 3 drops clove, 3 drops nutmeg, 7 drops rosemary
Massage this oil mixture over the adrenals glands, which are located on top of the kidneys and apply a warm compress.

For more information on the adrenals you may reference the books previously mentioned, as well as the "Essential Oils Integrative Medical Guide" by Gary Young ND, and "The Chemistry of Essential Oils Made Simple" by Dr. David Stewart Ph.D., D.N.M. All of the books I have listed are available at www.abundanthealth4u.com. All of the products suggested can be purchased through my Young Living web site at www.youngliving.org/lamoore or your own Virtual Office Site with Young Living if you are already a Young Living member.

    Neurological Diseases

I recently bought myself a new book titled "Essential Oils Integrative Medical Guide" by D. Gary Young. In doing some research for one of my distributors concerning Multiple Sclerosis, the book guided me to the section on Neurological Diseases. In this section I learned that Juniper essential oil promotes nerve function. The book also mentions that people with neurological diseases often suffer from emotions of fear, anger and depression. It is recommended that the essential oil of frankincense be used to assist in healing and releasing these emotional concerns. No wonder I love it so much! So many of us experience these feelings, and knowing this about frankincense should offer us all some help. I never leave home without my frankincense. I also read that using hot packs is discouraged. Think of the neurological problem as an inflammation. To put a flame out you would not add more heat, or more fire, you would add coolness, such as a cold pack.

One of my favorite Young Living products is called Sulfurzyme. I take this on a daily basis. It contains MSM, a naturally occurring organic form of dietary sulfur. Gary Young mentions in his book that sulfur deficiency is a very prevalent problem with people suffering from neurological diseases. I usually take it to assist me with joint aches and pains. My husband has found that it assists him during hay fever times with his allergies. Wow, I never knew it could help with neurological problems as well. Love it!

In continuing with my reading I learned that Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease where the body's own immune system attacks the nerves. The book mentions that the following essential oils may help:
    Juniper
    Blue Yarrow
    Helichrysum
    Geranium
    Peppermint
    Thyme linalol
    Oregano
    wintergreen or birch
    Cypress
    Marjoram

I continued to read about a simple way to keep MS symptoms from worsening. Again I read that it is important to stay cool and avoid areas and activities that would heat the body. Cold baths and swimming have proven to be helpful. If one becomes overheated or experiences worsening of symptoms, "lower the body temperature by laying them on a table, covering them with a sheet, ice, shower curtain, and blankets (in that order). Work the feet with oils and watch for benefits." (pg 440)

For anyone suffering from MS or other neurological diseases, I suggest you purchase this book. There is an MS Regimen to be performed daily outlined on page 440 of the book.

Under MS in the book "Essential Oils Desk Reference" it  mentions that the blends of Valor and Aroma Siez may be useful. Under "Other Dietary Supplementation" the following products are listed: Sulfurzyme, MultiGreens, Power Meal, Mega Cal, Super C, Super B, Ningxia Red.

For those of you suffering from these types of diseases, you can go to my web site at www.youngliving.org/lamoore to read and learn more about these products. If you are interested in purchasing one of these books, go to www.abundanthealth4u.com. This is my favorite site for books and miscellaneous health products.

May you be blessed in your healing journey!

    Quarterly News from Laina's Corner

My views on the World of Therapeutic Essential Oils with
News of Upcoming Young Living Events

    My Views:
I love this time of year. I wake up to birds chirping, the warm sun shining through my windows, and the clean sweet air of spring! It doesn’t get much better than that! Since spring is a time for cleaning and sorting, I just wanted to mention a few oils that I enjoy using while I clean. Besides using the Thieves cleaner, I enjoy putting Geranium essential oil in my soap water. It leaves a clean fresh smelling flowery spring scent. Then there is peppermintoil, purification and lemongrass, lemon oil or any one of the citrus oils. They have disinfecting as well as uplifting properties. In the special for May you can receive the Citrus Fresh, which has the citrus oils in it for you!

I also enjoy diffusing while I clean. To narrow down my favorites would be difficult because I enjoy and love all the oils. However, I have found that the Resin burner works wonders for getting out fish and skunk scents the best. We love to eat fish at our house, and we also have many visiting skunks in our area. The frankincense resin when burned, leaves a clean fresh scent which we all love here in our home.

May I suggest you experiment and discover which essential oils you like cleaning with the best? I would love to hear what your experiences are. You are welcome to send me an email or post a comment on my blog. May you enjoy cleaning as much as I do and may your life be pleasing and prosperous during this life giving spring!
